The Fasting

December 29, 2011 in Archives

Fasting is one of the most powerful weapons God has ever given us for our daily lives.

According to the Bible, there are three duties of every Christian: give, pray and fast.Biblical fasting takes a lot of discipline and strength—strength which you can only receive from God. Your private discipline will bring you rewards in Heaven, says Mathew 6.

When you give God your first through fasting, prayer and giving at the beginning of the year, you set the course for the entire year.
For the last 3 years Reality Church has been participating by starting the year with a 21 day Daniels fast.

“In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three full weeks. I ate no pleasant food, no meat or wine came into my mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.” Daniel 10:2, 3 also see Dan.1:8-14

We encourage you to seek the Lord in prayer and let your decisions about your biblical fasting come from Him. Ask the Lord to show you areas to target during your time of fasting and prayer. We believe that, as we pray and seek God and give Him our best at the first of the year, He will bless our ENTIRE year (Matthew 6:33)!

The Body of Christ

December 29, 2011 in Archives

In the month of January will be talking about what it means to be a part of the Body of Christ.

When a person becomes a Christian, he doesn’t just join a local church because it’s a good habit for growing in spiritual maturity. He joins a local church because it’s the expression of what Christ has made him—a member of the body of Christ. Being united to Christ means being united to every Christian. But that universal union must be given a living, breathing existence in a local church.

As we gather to worship God and exercise love and good deeds toward one another, we demonstrate in real life, you might say, the fact that God has reconciled us to himself and to one another. We demonstrate to the world that we have been changed, not primarily because we memorize Bible verses, pray before meals, tithe a portion of our income, and listen to Christian radio stations, but because we increasingly show a willingness to put up with, to forgive, and even to love a bunch of fellow sinners.

God didn’t call us to be “attendees” in church, he called us to be “united deeply” with other believers.
